Description
GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex found in human plasma, saliva, and urine. Discovered in the 1970s by Dr. Loren Pickart, GHK-Cu has been shown to stimulate collagen synthesis, promote angiogenesis, and enhance the proliferation and survival of fibroblasts and keratinocytes. The peptide complex modulates expression of numerous genes involved in skin repair, extracellular matrix remodeling, and inflammation. GHK-Cu upregulates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) for degradation of damaged collagen and elastin, enabling deposition of new, healthy extracellular matrix. It also chelates and delivers copper ions essential for lysyl oxidase enzyme activity involved in collagen cross-linking. Research has demonstrated potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, hair growth stimulating, and neuroprotective properties. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
