Description

Ara-290 (Cibinetide) is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from the B-helix surface of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike EPO itself, Ara-290 does not bind to the classical homodimeric EPO receptor (EPOR/EPOR) and therefore does not stimulate erythropoiesis. Instead, it selectively activates the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heterodimeric complex of EPOR and beta common receptor (βcR/CD131). This IRR activation triggers tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory signaling cascades distinct from erythropoietic pathways. Research has demonstrated Ara-290’s effects on neuroprotection, small fiber neuropathy, wound healing, and metabolic parameters. It has been studied in clinical research for diabetic neuropathy, sarcoidosis-related neuropathy, and chronic inflammatory conditions. The selective IRR targeting makes it a unique pharmacological tool. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
