Description
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during electrically induced sleep. Consisting of nine amino acids, DSIP has been studied for its effects on sleep architecture, particularly its ability to promote delta (slow-wave) sleep — the deepest and most restorative phase of sleep. Beyond sleep regulation, DSIP research has revealed a remarkably diverse range of physiological effects including modulation of corticotropin and cortisol release, influence on pain perception through opioid system interactions, and antioxidant properties. DSIP has also been studied for its ability to normalize disrupted circadian rhythms and influence stress hormone regulation. The peptide crosses the blood-brain barrier and has been detected in multiple brain regions and peripheral tissues. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
