Description
GRF 1-29, commonly known as Sermorelin, is a synthetic peptide consisting of the first 29 amino acids of the naturally occurring 44-amino acid Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH). This truncated sequence retains full biological activity at the GHRH receptor, as the first 29 amino acids contain the complete receptor-binding domain necessary for stimulating growth hormone release from the anterior pituitary. Sermorelin activates GHRH receptors (GHRH-R) on somatotroph cells, initiating a cAMP-mediated signaling cascade that promotes GH gene transcription, synthesis, and pulsatile secretion. It produces a physiological pattern of GH release that mimics natural GHRH signaling. Sermorelin has been the most extensively clinically studied GHRH analog and was previously FDA-approved as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
