Description
IGF-1 LR3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Long R3) is an 83-amino acid analog of human IGF-1 that has been structurally modified for enhanced potency and extended half-life. The modifications include replacement of glutamic acid at position 3 with arginine (R3) and an additional 13-amino acid N-terminal extension peptide. These changes dramatically reduce IGF-1 LR3’s binding affinity to IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), resulting in significantly higher bioavailability and potency compared to native IGF-1. IGF-1 LR3 signals through the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R), activating the PI3K/Akt and MAPK/ERK pathways to promote cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. It has been widely used as a research tool in cell biology for studying IGF-1R-mediated signaling and as a cell culture supplement to promote cell growth. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
