Description
SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is a synthetic octapeptide designed to modulate the SNARE (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor Attachment protein Receptor) complex, which is essential for neurotransmitter vesicle fusion and release at the neuromuscular junction. SNAP-8 is an elongated version of the hexapeptide Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3/Leuphasyl), containing two additional amino acids that enhance its activity. The peptide acts as a competitive inhibitor of SNAP-25, one of the three SNARE complex proteins, thereby reducing the efficiency of catecholamine release and attenuating muscular contraction. This mechanism has been studied in cosmetic research as a topical approach to reducing expression lines. SNAP-8 has been investigated for its effects on muscle contraction modulation and neurotransmitter release dynamics. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
