Description
Thymalin is a synthetic peptide complex derived from the thymus gland, consisting of a mixture of polypeptides that replicate the immunomodulatory factors produced by thymic epithelial cells. Originally developed by Dr. Vladimir Khavinson at the Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia, Thymalin has been studied for its ability to restore and regulate immune system function, particularly T-cell mediated immunity. The thymus gland plays a critical role in T-lymphocyte maturation and immune system development, but involutes (shrinks) with age, contributing to immunosenescence. Thymalin research has focused on its potential to restore age-related immune decline, modulate cytokine profiles, normalize T-cell subpopulations, and potentially extend lifespan by maintaining immune competence. Supplied as a lyophilized powder. For research use only.
